for Ergonomics Program

Management
Roles & Responsibility:
- Establish commitment
to safety on the same level as qualitya nd productivity
- Demonstrate personal
commitment to program implementation and maintenance
- Ensure each associate
has received proper training
- Observe/reinforce
safe work practices
- Recognize potential
concerns, identify improvements or request additional technical
support for evaluation
- Support associate
involvement
- Apply ergonomics in
the design, installation and operation of facilities, tools, equipment
and processes
- Ensure injuries/illnesses
are reported promptly
- Address work area
concersn in a timely manner
Associate
Roles & Responsiblity:
- Attend training on
proper ergonomics work techniques
- Observe/reinforce
safe work practices
- Recognize potential
ergonomics concerns, identify improvements or request additional
technical support for evaluation
- Ensure injuries/illnesses
are reported promptly
- Make sure all work
tasks are performed within restrictions as specified by a healthcare
provider
- Actively participate
in ergonomic evaluations to address opportunities for workplace
improvement
- Follow proper ergonomic
principles
Engineering
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical
expertise during assessments
- Recognize and analyze
potential risks in current projects/processes
- Recommend and implement
ergonomic solutions
- Help set priorities
and schedules for implementing ergonomic solutions
- Conduct ergonomic
assessments
Safety,
Health & Environment Personnel Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist with program
implementation and maintenance
- Provide technical
support as required
- Conduct ergonomic
assessments
- Monitor "program
effectiveness measures" to identify trends and opportunities
for improvement
Health
Services Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate
medical care
- Participate as needed
in injury/illness investigations
- Facililtate case management
- Act as liaison with
outside physicians
- Provide technical
support as required
- Conduct ergonomic
assessments
